In these trying times squad coaches and managers are having to come up with new ideas to stimulate our young players who are desperate to take to the field and make crunching tackles but alas we have to wait a bit longer.
Tonight, U14’s held a 1 hour Zoom Session when young coach, Robert Boardman, took time out from Winchester University where he is half way through a Coaching and Sports Performance Degree and he presented the U14 lads with RFU recognised Rugby Core Values and also discussed the importance of a squad leadership group who should;
- Set the Standard
- Enforce the Values of the Team
- Lead the Feedback &
- Be Committed
Nominations were made to establish an U14 Leadership Group consisting of 2 Captains and 2 Vice Captains from forwards and backs and a vote, by the players, is currently under way via survey monkey. The Leadership Group will be announced on Saturday ahead of Sundays training session.
U14’s Squad feel that using this time productively will make them stronger as a group in the long term.
