Sunday saw the return of Sheffield Ladies to Abbeydale for their first 80 minute, full-contact fixture since pre-covid. Birmingham Moseley were worthy competitors with a particularly strong forward pack but Sheffield used their creativity and flair along with a hearty defensive effort to seal a 33-14 win.
Conditions were very hot and humid but all the efforts of pre-season and a full subs bench allowed Sheffield to fight on until the final whistle. Captain Megan Dugdale broke away three times to score an impressive hat trick. The other two try-scorers being flanker Lucy Duffy and fly-half Lucy Kilheeney. Kilheeney’s boot was equally impressive, converting the majority of tries (from a training cone as a tee no less!)
