Club statement following the RFU’s decision to postpone competitive community rugby until the week commencing Monday 21 September
Following the RFU’s decision to delay the start of the competitive community rugby season until the week commencing Monday 21 September, we wanted to provide an update to everyone across our club.
Naturally, this is frustrating news for our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters, particularly after all the hard work and preparation that has gone into getting ready for the new season.
However, we fully understand and support the RFU’s decision. Ultimately, the safety and wellbeing of our players and wider rugby community must come first.
The postponement affects the competitive start of the season across our 2nd XV, 3rd XV, Women, Colts, and Minis & Juniors sections. At present, our 1st XV’s National one fixtures will go ahead as planned.
In the meantime, we want to thank everyone involved with the club for their continued patience, understanding and commitment.
We look forward to seeing everyone back on the pitch soon.
